Torre De Belem
The Torre De Belem was built in the 16th century
It was built as both a fortification and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon
Unfortunately the tower was surrended to the Spanish during a battle in 1580
The final changes to the building date from 1830
During some times in history it was used as a prison
Today, it's a beautiful world heritage site
