The Fernsehturm
Television in German is "Fernsehen", literary "far seeing"
Turm means tower. This is the Berlin TV Tower
Over 200m high the tower was built by the
communist regime of East Germany in 1969
We had breakfast at the resturant in the observation area
This is the view to the west towards the Reichstag and Brandenburg gate
These next few pictures are taken through the glass as there is no open observation area
A zoom in shot of the BerlinerDom
I am thinking that this is communist era development
Below the tower is a small park with a statue of Marx and Engels
The Marx and Engels statue, heros of the Proletariat
